Virginia is home to many diverse types of topography, from the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Western part of the state to sweeping marshes and beaches in the East. Home to the first English colony, Jamestown, Virginia is a state that’s truly steeped in history.
Rural Virginia is home to beautiful, expansive views of surrounding mountains and countless farming communities. The Appalachian mountains that stretch through the Western part of the state play a huge role in the culture, music, and rich traditions of the people that call the area home.
Virginia’s economy is as diverse as its people. From rich coal mining heritage in far Southwest Virginia to a thriving government sector in Northern Virginia, there is no shortage of varied economic areas in the state. Along with a large tourism industry and long-standing agricultural economy all over, it’s no surprise that Virginia residents love their state.
