Environmental Finance Center
In late 2022, SERCAP was selected as an Environmental Finance Center (EFC) and recipient of the US EPA’s Environmental Finance Center Grant. As an Environmental Finance Center, SERCAP’s Regional Team will deliver Technical Assistance (TA) to local governments, states, Tribes, Territories, and more, to address critical public health needs, Environmental Justice Projects, and to protect the environment.
More specifically, SERCAP’s Environmental Finance Center serves EPA Region 4, which includes the states of: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Since four (4) of the eight (8) states in the Region fall outside of SERCAP’s primary service region, the agency has partnered with fellow National RCAP Member Organizations: Communities Unlimited and Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP).
The main focus of the Environmental Finance Center is to provide training and application assistance to underserved communities to help them gain access to grants and loans for critical water, wastewater, and other environmental projects. Furthermore, the EFC’s assistance will center on helping communities access SRF (State Revolved Funds) and other state and federal grants and loans.
