Well and Septic Loans for Homeowners
Need to repair or replace your well or septic system? SERCAP offers loans of up to $15,000 at 1% interest to eligible homeowners in rural communities. Loans can help pay for a new well or septic system, including standard and alternative systems, or repairs to an existing system.
Loan Terms and Costs
- Loan amount: Up to $15,000
- Interest rate: 1%
- Repayment period: Up to 10 years
- Application fee: 3%
- Origination fee: 5%
- Closing fees: $350
- Credit report fee: Varies by provider. Contact SERCAP for the current cost.
Application, origination, and closing fees may be included in your loan if sufficient loan funds are available.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify:
- You must own and live in the home.
- Your property must be in a rural community with a population of 50,000 or fewer.
- Your household income must meet the limits listed below.
- The well or septic system cannot replace service from a public water or wastewater system.
- The loan cannot fund a well or septic system for new home construction.
Where Are Loans Available?
SERCAP offers these loans in Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
Through a partnership with RCAP Solutions, loans are also available in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
