Recently, SERCAP’s Housing Counseling Program delivered its first online group education workshops, as part of the agency’s plan to continue delivering quality services during the COVID-19 public health crisis. SERCAP is an approved HUD Local Housing Counseling Agency (LHCA), and has served hundreds of clients, since 2012, through a variety of Housing Counseling and group education services and programs.
SERCAP’s Housing Counseling Program kicked of its online group education services by delivering three (3) workshops, including: Budgeting 101, Predatory Lending, and a VIDA (Virginia Individual Development Accounts) Program Overview. Each workshop was attended by nine (9) participants, who had the opportunity to evaluate the online workshop experience. Overall, the participants provided very positive feedback on the online workshops, and stated that they would participate in other online workshops in the future. SERCAP’s Housing Counseling Program is intending to provide several online group education workshops in the coming weeks, and has already scheduled three (3) additional online workshops.
