At SERCAP, we support a diverse group of individuals and communities across our organization’s seven-state region along the east coast of the United States, including: Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Did you know that our headquarters is located in Roanoke, Virginia?
If you’ve ever called our central office in Roanoke, or scheduled a meeting with us there, you’ve probably spoken with Lisa Banks. This amazing woman has been working at SERCAP as our Office Coordinator for six years, ensuring our office is running smoothly, and making sure our clients are connected with the people who will help them the most.
On a daily basis, Lisa manages the administrative side of our work, handling phone calls and some Human Resources work as well. So what led her to apply for a job at SERCAP? “I worked at Allstate Insurance for 36 years. Then I retired, and was off for about 2 years when this job came up. I find helping others to be fulfilling, which is why I stayed at Allstate for so long, and why I applied to work for SERCAP” Lisa explained. And we are so glad she decided to join the SERCAP team!
Lisa’s altruism makes her an incredible part of our team. Her ideal day at work is when she’s able to help the less fortunate. “I remember a client was in need of water, and SERCAP stepped in and provided them with a well in less than 30 days, with a very affordable loan repayment plan,” she described. “This company is here to help people in need.”
How would we describe Lisa? We decided to ask her how she thought we would respond to this question. “Happy, bubbly, friendly,” Lisa thought. We’d have to agree! It’s this personable nature that makes her a valuable member of our team, and the best person to be managing our office. And she’s humble, as she explained that she hopes her legacy at SERCAP will simply be, “that I did the best that I could while I was working here.”
We’ve talked about what Lisa does when she’s working in our central office, but what does she like to do in her free time? When Lisa’s not in the office, she loves to settle down and cozy up with a good romance book or an old movie. When the weather gets a little cooler, she also enjoys going for walks.
The administrative support that Lisa provides us with is crucial to the work we do here at SERCAP. We are incredibly thankful to have employees like her on our team. Thank you, Lisa, for your dedication to helping others and the SERCAP cause!
